Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
In the Gospel of John, two would-be disciples ask Jesus where He lived. He said simply, “come and see.” Today Jesus continues to invite people to “come and see” and to get to know Him and His Church.
We want to invite inquirers to come and learn more about Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church, and ways we can come to better know, love, and serve the Lord. We are beginning with an inquiry process that will enable seekers to find out more about God, the Catholic Church, and themselves.
We will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in Saint Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 614 South Oakwood Avenue, Beckley for evening Mass, with sessions following downstairs.
Saint Augustine, a fifth century Doctor of the Church, once wrote “To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek God the greatest adventure; to find God the greatest human achievement.”
You are cordially invited to journey with us and see for yourself. For more information please contact Deacon Harry Evans at 304-549-4590 or byemailat hevans@dwc.org.

One Million Rosaries
October is the month of the Holy Rosary. The pledges for the One Million Rosaries prayer for vocations are still flowing in. The last day to be counted is October 7, but the prayers can begin any time, and continue until your promise is fulfilled. Since October is also Respect Life month, please keep the aged, the handicapped, the unborn and all other vulnerable individuals in your rosary prayers. The Diocese has sent free rosaries, available in both vestibules, to use and share with anyone who would be willing to commit a time of prayer for vocations. You can sign up to pledge here.
Pope Francis’ September Prayer Intention
For people living on the margins. We pray for those persons living on the margins of society, in inhumane life conditions; may they not be overlooked by institutions and never considered of lesser importance.
Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration will take place each Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 6:15 PM (between the Masses) every Wednesday. Please contact Shirley Kim 304-573-7307 if you would like to commit to praying before Our Lord at a specific time each Wednesday.
