A.J. MisitiBeckley, WV native and St. Francis alumnus A.J. Misiti will be ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Denver, CO June 22, 2019.

A.J. attended St. Francis from 1967-1974. He was an avid altar boy for Frs. Kerrigan, McSweeney, McDonough, and Duhaime. A.J. developed a great love for the Liturgy and the Eucharist from this ministry, and credits this service with the beginning of his call to the diaconate.

A.J. is the son of the late Tony and Jeannette Misiti and the brother of current SFDS parishioners Larry and Patsieann Misiti and out of town siblings Michael (deceased), Paula, and       Vincent. He is also the proud uncle of St. Francis teacher Tory Misiti.

“It’s hard to believe that what started as a stirring of my spirit at St. Francis so long ago has grown into my ordination as a deacon. Beckley and St. Francis will always be my home, and I look forward to the next time I return and get to attend Mass at St. Francis.”

If anyone wants to send him cards or memories:
